At least four lawsuits representing more than 300 retired NFL players or their spouses will soon be consolidated in Philadelphia. The lawsuits, which blame the NFL for concussion-related dementia and brain disease, will be tried before Senior U.S. District Judge Anita B. Brody.
The plaintiffs accuse the league of negligence and intentional misconduct in its response to the headaches, dizziness and dementia former players have reported. Some claim they have no symptoms but want to be monitored for future health problems.
NFL officials have vowed to vigorously defend the claims.
