Ohio State Player: Karageorge Had Had ‘A lot of Concussions’

The coroner of Franklin County, Ohio has confirmed that a neuropathologist will examine the brain of Kosta Karageorge, the walk-on Ohio State University football player who died from an apparent self-inflicted gun shot oover the weekend.

Karageorge had texted his mom just before his death about the debilitating effect that a concussion or multiple concussion was having on him.

Dr. Anahi Ortiz, the Franklin County coroner, told the Associated Press that the neuropathologist “may or may not be able to determine any sort of abnormality or defect from traumatic brain injury.”

Karageorge’s teammate Michael Bennett, a defensive tackle, told the wire service that “we knew he had a lot of concussions and we were worried about that. But we didn’t see any side effects of it.”
