OHSAA Confirms that Girls Soccer Is ‘Starting to Rival Football’

The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has reported the frequency of concussions in girls soccer is “starting to rival football,” according to Tim Stried, Director of Communication for the OHSAA.

Stried also noted that while the majority of concussions in football happen during games, practices are more dangerous in soccer.

“Soccer practice in most cases is very similar to the game as far as the speed, the collision of the ball with the head that is very similar to what you will see in the game,” he said.
